What it calculates
- Pace: enter a distance and a time to get your pace per kilometre or mile and your speed in km/h and mph.
- Finish time: enter a distance and a target pace to predict your finish — useful for goals like a sub-4-hour marathon.
- Distance: enter a time and a pace to see how far you will go.
Below the result is a split table with cumulative times every 1 km (every 5 km for a marathon), so you can check whether you are on plan during a race.
Race finish times at common paces
| Pace (/km) | 5K | 10K | Half (21.0975 km) | Marathon (42.195 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4'30" | 22:30 | 45:00 | 1:34:56 | 3:09:53 |
| 5'00" | 25:00 | 50:00 | 1:45:28 | 3:30:59 |
| 5'41" | 28:25 | 56:50 | 1:59:54 | 3:59:49 |
| 6'00" | 30:00 | 1:00:00 | 2:06:35 | 4:13:10 |
| 7'00" | 35:00 | 1:10:00 | 2:27:41 | 4:55:22 |
Kilometres and miles
One mile is exactly 1.609344 km. Switching the unit converts the distance and pace you entered, so you can compare results from races abroad or mile-based running apps. For other length conversions, use the Unit Converter.
Keep in mind
The maths assumes an even pace on flat ground. Hills, wind, heat, drink stops and course measurement differences all affect real results. Listen to your body when setting training intensity.
