How to roll
- Pick how many dice you need, from 1 to 6.
- Hit Roll or tap the dice tray. The dice bounce, tumble and settle.
- Each face and the total appear once they stop. Doubles, triples and other matching sets get called out.
- On a phone, turn on Shake to roll and just shake the device. iPhones ask for motion-sensor permission the first time.
Your last 15 rolls stay listed underneath, so there's no arguing about who rolled what.
Is it really random?
Each result is decided first with the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and only then is the 3D cube turned so that face ends up on top. The spin is just for show. We also discard the tiny modulo bias, so every face has an exact 1-in-6 chance.
Odds for common rolls
With two dice the most likely total is 7: six of the 36 combinations add up to it, about 16.7%. Snake eyes (2) and boxcars (12) each have a single combination, roughly 2.8%. With three dice, totals of 10 and 11 tie for most common at 12.5% each.
| Dice | Total range | Most common | All faces match |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 2–12 | 7 | 1 in 6 |
| 3 | 3–18 | 10 or 11 | 1 in 36 |
| 4 | 4–24 | 14 | 1 in 216 |
Coin flip mode
Switch to Coin flip and the coin pops into the air, spins and lands heads or tails. You'll see running counts and percentages, your current streak, and your best streak this session. Five heads in a row happens about 3.1% of the time, more often than most people expect.
Challenge a friend
Tap Share under a roll to send a link with your result. Your friend gets the same number of dice ready to go, and after they roll they see "You 14 vs friend 9" straight away. In coin mode, the link challenges them to beat your best streak. Need to pick an order instead? Try the ladder game or draw lots.
