How to draw lots
- In Win / Lose mode, set the number of participants (2–30) and how many winning cards there are. You can rename the card texts to anything, such as "Buy coffee" or "Free pass".
- The cards are shuffled and dealt face down, each showing only a number. Everyone picks a number, then taps their card to flip it.
- Use Reveal all to open every card at once, or Shuffle again to start a new round.
If there are several different outcomes, such as cleaning zones or presentation order, switch to Custom list and type one item per line. One card is made for each line.
Good uses
| Situation | Suggested setup |
|---|---|
| Who pays for dinner | Players = group size, 1 winning card |
| Prize draw for 3 people | 3 winning cards, winning text "Prize" |
| Chore or duty rotation | Custom list with each chore |
| Presentation order | Custom list with 1st, 2nd, 3rd… |
Is the shuffle fair?
The card order comes from a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so every arrangement is equally likely. The face of a card is not drawn on screen until it is flipped, and nothing you type is sent to a server.
Drawing lots works well when people take turns on one screen. If you would rather show the result all at once, try the Spin the Wheel or the Ladder Game. For plain numbers, the random pick mode in the Lotto Number Generator is handy.
